When Hedonism, the leading wine store in Mayfair, opens a wine bar, you pay attention. When Hedonism turns what was its pub into a wine bar, you visit immediately. With all the comfort and frivolity of a pub, but with the wine list and accompanying food menu you would expect of something a little more upmarket, The White Horse is a rare jewel in a corner of the city often more concerned with pomp, circumstance, and skyrocketing prices.

At The White Horse, things are a little different. The menu is full of things you want to eat while you're drinking some good wine, and ranges from snacky bits and charcuterie boards to more robust plates like lamb belly kebab. The wine list is extensive, but crucially offers a fair few by the glass, with the cheapest rolling in at an extremely reasonably £6.50.

Want to check it out for yourself? To celebrate their reopening, The White Horse is giving one lucky reader the chance to come in for dinner for four, complete with a welcome glass of champagne and wines matched to your meal alongside one 'Blind Wine' for each guest – a tasting pour which, if guessed correctly, wins you the whole bottle.
