Berber & Q are kicking off the year at camp Shawarma Bar, once again, with a collaboration featuring four of London's hottest chefs who'll be pimping the humble pita adding their personal stamp to it and then showcasing it on the menu for one week only.
The collaboration will culminate in the grand-finale and annual Pita Party on Sunday 2 February when all of the chefs will come together to showcase their individual dishes. This year’s collaboration will see Harneet Baweja of homestyle Indian kitchen Gunpowder, Eran Tibi of Tel Aviv-inspired Bala Baya, pastrami kings Mark Ogus and Owen Barratt of Monty's Deli and cult dessert favourites Happy Endings going head-to-head in a battle for pita superiority.
Here's the line up:
- Harneet Baweja (Gunpowder) – lamb raan pita, garlic yoghurt, coriander and mint salad
- Terri Mercieca (Happy Endings) – banana split pita, golden syrup soft serve, hazelnut crunch, sour cherry
- Eran Tibi (Balabaya) – laffa couture, Iraqi flatbread, slow roasted lamb belly, date, smoky plum, radish
- Owen Barratt (Monty's Deli) – chopped liver, hot pastrami pita, coleslaw, fermented hot sauce
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled as each chef takes the pita platform at Berber & Q's Shawarma Bar throughout January, and grab your tickets to the party for the final showdown.
