What is it?
An experimental cocktail bar from award-winning spirits guru Mr Lyan, which puts fair wages and sustainable practises first? We’ll raise a glass or two to that.
Who runs it?
Formerly White Lyan, this bar continues owner Ryan Chetiyawardana – aka Mr Lyan’s – war on food waste with inventive cocktails. Since the opening of his first bar, Chetiyawardana has eschewed fresh ingredients and ice for house-infused flavours and chilled liquids. While his bar Dandelyan has received global acclaim, it’s at Super Lyan his ethos is most evident, serving pre-bottled and draught cocktails in a pared-back space.

What's on the menu?
Well, Super Lyan is currently closed for some much needed TLC, but winter is coming and it’s not long until its doors will be back open. We were once big fans of the Peganon Royale –a smooth mix of Botanist gin, Martini Ambrato vermouth, cocoa butter, passion berry and bubbles – and the Silverleaf Fizz, a fresh and bright Grey Goose vodka-based cocktail with lemon, sugar snap peas and soda. But if you can’t wait until its reopening to sample them, you can always visit Cub above it, or buy Mr Lyan’s bottled cocktails which are available at mrlyan.com
Where can I find them?
Super Lyan is right in the heart of Hoxton, just a short hop, skip and a jump away from the train station. And after you’ve worked your way through most of the menu, you’ll no doubt thank us for that information. But first you have to get there, so pull up your map app and type in 155 Hoxton Street, N1 6PJ. A round of sustainable, zero-waste cocktails isn’t far away...
