Spitalfields Fresh & Unboxed Weekender

One of the jewels in East London's crown, Spitalfields has always been a vibrant hub of food and drink, authentic local culture, history and great shopping. From the beautifully redeveloped Spitalfields Market to the food traders, restaurants, bars and shops that line the market and the streets around, you'll never be short of things to dive into.

The Fresh and Unboxed Weekender this June underlines that fact, bringing together the best of the area in a long weekend of events, activations and one-off collaborations, plus some live music, too. You'll be able to catch live musicians each afternoon, catch open-air screenings and even participate in fitness challenges around the streets. There'll be an art market popping up in Crispin Place, free dance classes from Swing Patrol, and more besides.

If you're like us, you'll be keen to check out the food, and the Weekender includes loads of one-off events, including the Punk Chef's pop-up restaurant – which offers employment to those with impaired hearing – an ostrich-egg-based brunch pop-up from Brother Marcus; and beers and killer cocktails from Kill The Cat's pop-up bar on Bishop’s Square.

And what's more, the weekend will see the opening of a brand-new food hub on Lamb Street, where restaurants including Pizza Guys, Rudies Jerk Shack, Dos Mas Tacos, Ebby’s Kitchen, Burger & Beyond, Duck Truck and more will be serving up introductory offers to mark the occasion. And elsewhere on Lamb Street, Ebby’s Kitchen is giving out free halloumi fries with every order of its kofte and halloumi wraps from Thursday-Sunday via the Spitalfields app. With loads of shopping opportunities to boot, it's one of the best places to be this weekend.
