When it comes to serving South West Londoners authentic Indian food, Kennington Tandoori has been there and done it. Run by owner Kowsar Hoque, the restaurant has been a hit with local residents and high-ranking politicians alike for more than 35 years. It's also a stone's throw from Foodism HQ.

National Curry Week 2019 with Kingfisher is all about celebrating those local favourites, and this iconic restaurant sprung to mind straight away when we were thinking about who to go and learn from. So we sent Mike Gibson in to learn a few trade secrets from head chef Atique in his team, and some recipes he could try in the Tun Yard Studios kitchen later.
