THE ALL ROUNDER

Cabana, various locations

From the Havaianas on the bathroom doors to the Carnival posters adorning the walls, barbecue restaurant Cabana brings a slice of São Paolo style to its five London locations. Skewers of sticky, spicy Malagueta chicken or serious steaks marinated with chilli and cumin are perfectly paired with cassava chip and garlicky black-eyed beans. Or try a steaming bowl of moqueca, the traditional Bahian shrimp stew. Whatever you order, make sure it’s washed down with one of the fruity cachaça-laced cocktails. cabana-brasil.com

THE PARTY ONE

Floripa, 91-93 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3HZ

If a Brazilian take on the Sunday roast is your kind of thing, head to Shoreditch hotspot Floripa. Picanha (top sirloin) makes up the beef, and pão de queijo (cheese bread) the yorkshire pudding. Equal parts club, bar and restaurant, after dark on the weekends DJs take to the decks and the caipirinhas flow until 3am. floripalondon.com

THE TEMPORARY ONE

Bedford & Strand, 1A Bedford Street, WC2E 9HH

Usually better known for its wine list and charcuterie, basement bistro Bedford & Strand is hosting a series of Sunday supper clubs themed around each of the twelve World Cup host cities. Running from March to June, each event features a three-course meal co-designed by Brazilian chefs Andre Salum and Helio Fenerich, along with Leblon cachaça cocktails, regional music and goodie bags. Each menu hones in on regional ingredients – like exotic camu and acai fruits from Manaus (23 March), the Amazon city where England plays its first match at the World Cup. brazilpopupdiner.com
