Japan Week 2019, sponsored by JFOODO, kicked off with a party at Nobu Shoreditch, celebrating delicious Japanese seafood and sake.
An all-star guest line up of celebrities, influencers and industry experts enjoyed fresh sashimi from the expert chefs in the Nobu kitchen, chilled sake and cocktails galore expertly mixed by resident bartenders.
Entertainment was also nothing short of explosive, with fire breathers welcoming guests into the entrance, traditional Mugenkyo Taiko drummers providing the soundtrack and live calligraphy from the talented Paul Antonio.
Meanwhile, guests were sent on their way with goodie bags backed full of gifts from Soto sake, Warners gin, Lucky Saint, Press juice, Merchant's Heart tonic, Master of Malt, Indie Bay, Itsu, Dr Wills condiments, OSU apple cider vinegar and Chocolate and Love chocolate.
To find out more about sake, and pairing it with seafood, watch Foodism's introduction to sake series, with sommelier and drinks educator Raul Diaz, which covers exactly what sake is, the different styles of sake, what to eat with sake and the difference between sake and white wine.
The series is produced by Foodism as part of Japan Week, a celebration of Japanese food and drink in London, from 23 September to 3 October 2019.
