To celebrate the end of Japan Week we threw a big and bold closing party at Kanpai, London's first and only craft sake brewery. With food from the good people at Freak Scene and a range of sake, beer and cocktails available, it's safe to say that everyone left well-fed and lubricated. What was on the menu?

Sake

A selection of Japanese imported sake including the
following types:

Honjozo

Junmai

Junmai Ginjo

Junmai Daiginjo

Beer

Truman's X Tokohama

A brand new and exclusive Japanese collaboration beer.

Onna-Bugeisha

A special collaboration beer between Kanpai and Beavertown’s Tempus Project.

Cocktails

From July to September, fireworks light up the sky over Japan nightly. Japanese fireworks are divided into four basic categories: warimono, pokamono, hanwarimono,
and katamono which were the inspiration for the following drinks:

Warimono

Toki Whisky, Merchant’s Heart Soda Water, pink grapefruit

Hanwarimono

Roku Gin, Merchant’s Heart Hibiscus, cucumber and raspberries

Pokamono

Maker’s Mark, Merchant’s Heart Ginger Ale, orange and ginger.

Katamono

Havana Club Rum, Merchant’s Heart Tonic Water, pink grapefruit and raspberries

Water

FIJI Water

FIJI Water slowly filters through layers of volcanic rock, gathering the minerals that give it its soft, smooth taste. There’s nothing on Earth quite like it.
