Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon bears the name of Reverend Elijah Craig, a bourbon pioneer who is credited as the first distiller to age his whiskey in charred oak barrels; thus, becoming known as The Father of Bourbon.
The charred barrel transformed the clear liquid inside into an intense amber whiskey made rich with the flavours of the wood, which we now recognise as bourbon.
Long before the term Small Batch even existed, Elijah Craig's Master Distillers were hand-selecting just the right number of barrels to make Elijah Craig.
Elijah Craig Small Batch is distilled, aged, and bottled in Kentucky from a traditional bourbon mashbill of corn, rye and malted barley. It’s then aged for 8 to 12 years in Level 3 charred new American oak barrels, giving the bourbon its signature warm spice and subtle smoke flavour. Don't just take our word for how delicious it is, though – the bourbon won "Best Small Batch Bourbon" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Our favourite way to enjoy Elijah Craig? In one of the best winter warmers – a classic Old Fashioned.
