Michel Roux Jr.'s hallowed Le Gavroche is probably right up there on any self-respecting food lover's bucket list – with a three-month waiting list to prove it – but now it's going to get just that bit harder to make a reservation: from February 2016, the restaurant will be closed to the general public on Mondays.
Instead, it'll be available for private and corporate hire – but the news that's got our knickers in a twist is that it'll also be hosting a series of unique pop-up events, starting with 'The Next Generation', which will involve Michel and his daughter Emily cooking together at Le Gavroche for the first time.
Other exclusive offerings will include experiences with previous Roux scholars, bespoke wine events and tutored tastings from Le Gavroche's head sommelier, David Galetti, and his team.
As well as the chance to collaborate on this unique event series, the initiative was also devised to give the staff at Le Gavroche more time outside the kitchen. And that's one more reason to love Michel Roux Jr.
