A group of Australians in London have come together to raise funds for the ongoing bushfire relief efforts in Australia. The fires, which have ravaged over 8.4 million hectares (an area larger than the size of Scotland) have claimed 25 lives, destroyed over 2,000 homes and claimed half a billion of the nation’s wildlife.

This Australia Day, a bushfire relief fundraiser is being held at the Off Piste Bar in Canary Wharf over the Australia Day weekend with 100% of ticket sales and all monies raised going to the Australian Red Cross disaster relief fund to help rebuild the country’s hardest-hit communities.

Event organisers are calling on all Aussies in London and their mates to come and support our cousins Down Under with an afternoon of Aussie-themed tunes and games, pizzas by Radio Alice, a bake-sale, raffles and a charity auction. Prizes including a private cocktail experience for 22 on London in the Sky, personal training sessions with Instagram sensation James Smith, dinner vouchers for London restaurants, concert tickets and a swag of other experiences and goodies.

The event kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 25 January. Additional donations can be made through the Just Giving page.
