Take shelter from the cold this winter by heading to new pop-up basement bar Doña in Stoke Newington, where a glorious celebration of warm and vibrant Mexican culture awaits.

Doña is the pink and crimson brain child of Thea Cumming of Dangerous Don mezcal and London Mezcal Week, and Lucie Massey of Cuppa Gumbo and Slap Ya Papa. The pair have previously collaborated on London Mezcal Week, and they're bringing their experience together to showcase the best of mezcal and up-and-coming musical talent.

From Wednesday to Saturday, Doña will serve up incredible mezcal cocktails. Sip a Fiorella, a fiery and fresh concoction of Dangerous Don's coffee mezcal, ginger, Supasawa, agave and lime, or whet your appetite with the Doña, an aperitif-style serve of Dangerous Don coffee mezcal, Martini Ambrato and Campari.

The space is marries Mexican culture with a 1920s New York jazz bar vibe: think luxurious velvet banquets, sultry low lighting, all in eye-popping shades of pink and red. The idea is to celebrate and support women, and the name Doña is a reference to the female form of 'Don'.

The bar will also host live music every night, with a focus on female performers – there'll be jazz from the likes of Rachel Cohen, Sarah Tandy and more – while duirng the day the space will be a jam space for up-and-coming London musicians.

Wednesday-Saturday 6-11.45pm; 92 Stoke Newington High St, N16 7NY. bardonalondon.com
