El Bandarra presents: Aperitivo Week

It might just be us, but we think the phrase 'happy hour' is a bit passé. But el hora de aperitivo? Well, that delectable little Spanish phrase is one we think we can definitely get behind. It's classier, sexier, and it means drinking before dinner, which if you're taking us out for a meal, is pretty much non-negotiable.

That's exactly what's happening throughout May, as Barcelona-based brand El Bandarra puts on a spread of cracking aperitivo-based events and activations across the capital. Intrigued? Let's get into it.

Events and pop-ups

Celebrations during Aperitivo Week will take many forms at a handful of great restaurants throughout the capital. A special menu at Vinoteca Kings Cross will be available throughout the week, with brand ambassador Alex Farrow serving up spritzes to cool you down during the heatwave between 4 and 7pm daily, with a carver slicing bits of beautiful, delicate jamón ibérico to pair alongside it. Just over the road at Hicce in Coal Drops Yard, the restaurant will be serving up 50cl bottles of El Bandarra Rojo to drink on the terrace alongside its Sunday brunch menu from 11am-4pm.

From something elegant and European to something a little more down and dirty, the El Bandarra terrace will officially open at MEATLiquor's Clapham restaurant on 28 May. Alongside great MEATLiquor food, you can sip away on beautiful Barcelona-inspired spritzes and cocktails alongside live music and entertainment between 12pm and 4pm, and you'll also get a complimentary Bandarra Spritz and goody bag for your trouble. And if you're not a Clapham resident, fear not: a bespoke El Bandarra menu, featuring delicious MEATLiquor food and El Bandarra cocktails, will be available across the group's 12 locations, with the chance to win a trip to Barcelona.
