Add to calendarGingerline's Grand Expedition brands itself as a 5-course culinary journey around the world. It's an eating experience like no other. Literally. The five-course set menu is a full-on 180-minute multimedia experience that combines elaborate set design, dance, storytelling, interactivity and immersive performance. If you've never been before, just know that it's not the sort of place where you can expect a quiet chat over a bowl of udon noodles. It's more of a get-up-and-dance-or-else sort of vibe. Tickets are £75 and include a welcome drink on arrival followed by a five-course set menu designed by Gingerline's Flavourology.
Gingerline is renowned for its ability to defy people's expectations, due partly to the complete secrecy that usually surrounds its productions. Gingerline that stress there's no photography permitted in the experience, the menu is secret with dietary preferences collected in advance, and is designed for adventurous people who want an unconventional dining experience. The location is revealed on the day and for this project will take place within a 5-minute walk of Tottenham Hale.
Which, y'know, isn't exactly for everyone – but it's still a great place to be during Japan Week. Why? Because sake. That's why. Yep, dine at Gingerline during Japan Week and use the code 'JAPANWEEK' when prompted and you'll receive a complimentary sake to enjoy during the experience. Kanpai!
