Whisky lovers, take note: Isle of Skye distillery Torabhaig has just unveiled its latest limited-edition expression, the Sound of Sleat Batch Strength – a more intense take on the fourth chapter of The Legacy Series.

Sound of Sleat and Sound of Sleat Batch Strength are the latest in The Torabhaig Legacy Series, a collection of Single Malts from the Isle of Skye distillery that charts Torabhaig’s journey to 10-year old.

Smokiness, maritime salinity and citrus brightness are intensified in a higher ABV (up to 60.2%), but with the familiar coastal flair. This is a bolder take on the signature character of Torabhaig, embracing the wilder elements of Skye, while maintaining the well-tempered peat that defines its style.

Matured exclusively in American oak, a combination of ex-bourbon and new oak casks, it results in a more concentrated expression of the distillery’s “Smoke with Taste” philosophy. It introduces itself with a balanced blast of smoke and sweet oak spice, with hints of sweet vanilla white pepper and a little whiff of oriental smoke on the palate, before finishing with a fiery spirit kick - the perfect warmer for cold winter nights.

The label features the bespoke artwork of Skye-based artist Ellis O’Connor, capturing the spirit of the rugged coastline.
