Making a cocktail with sake seems adventurous, but this serve from Shoryu hits all the right notes with hazelnut liqueur and mango purée

It's Japan Centre's 40th birthday this month, and ramen favourite Shoryu has created this cocktail to celebrate. It's not one for the fainthearted, combining sake, mango purée and hazelnut liqueur – but, when it comes to flavour, being adventurous definitely pays off.


  • 50ml Josen Sake
  • 25ml Yuzu Umeshu Genmai infused
  • 25ml Frangelico
  • 20ml Mango puree


  1. Add all the ingredients together in a shaker, top with the mango purée and ice and mix well. Pour over ice. 
  2. The cocktail glass can be decorated with bamboo leaves and fresh blackberries for a summery feel.
