A quick glance in the window and you might think The Jones Family Project was just another cool Shoreditch coffee bar. If you did, though, you'd be missing one of the best places to eat the City fringes has to offer – and one trip down the stairs to an impossibly roomy dining hall proves it. The 'family' in question is a band of close friends – Duncan and Anna Watts recruit long-time collaborator Cristiano Caputo as head chef, who brings verve and flair to Ginger Pig meat cooked hot (and we mean hot) in the josper, and the supporting cast – in the eclectic forms of feta and watermelon salad, Thai salmon, truffled mac n' cheese and more – are a great foil. Add to that locally-sourced spirits and coffee, and you'll be glad you stopped off.
