Dirty Bones is already well known for its indulgent dishes of, er, bones (think chicken on the bone, ribs and steak), burgers and 'dogs – not to mention its brunches – but the restaurant is now adding late nights to its repertoire, which means it'll be serving up cocktails and old-school beats until the early hours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Here's the recipe for its smokey-sweet mix on the old fashioned, called the Mutt's Nuts.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Woodford Reserve

  • 20 ml vanilla and cinnamon-infused maple syrup

  • 20 ml lemon juice
  •
20 ml apple juice

  • 2 ml Angostura bitters
  • Orange peel, to garnish

Method

Shake all the ingredients, strain and serve in a rocks glass over ice.
