To mark the end of Calçot season and the start of long-awaited Spring, Maltby Street's resident Bodega, Tozino's is throwing a bit of an allium bash. Maltby Street Market will open its gates for the first of 2019's Friday night events, inviting you to celebrate Spring with some serious eats. In keeping with Catalonian Calçotada tradition, Bar Tozino will bombard Maltby Street Market's historic railway arches with wood-fired grills piled high with calçots and grilled meats. As if that wasn't enough there'll be vermouth, jamón ibérico carving and live flamenco guitar music.

London Hot Sauce Festival

Things will be heating up in Copeland Park from 11am to 11pm on 13 April as the Hot Sauce Society delivers London's first ever festival dedicated to the dangerously spicy condiment. Over 30 of the UK's best artisan hot sauce makers are going to be peppering the park, giving you ample opportunity to get your hands on some of the most unique sauces that pack a serious punch. As the first event Jikoni and La Fromagerie's 'Civilised Sunday' speaker series, La Fromagerie founder Patricia Michelson will be gracing the Marylebone restaurant with her produce-forward presence. The series involves different speakers coming to Jikoni on a monthly basis to discuss their careers and contribute to the meal. Seasonal produce from Romana artichokes to Tarocco Oranges will be given the Jikoni treatment over a delicious six courses. Expect tasty chatter and delicious dishes such as: Keralan crab stuffed courgette flower with sorrel and coconut chutney; daal with wild garlic puree and paratha; Blythburg Farm pork and cipolle rosse campobasco.
