Hawksmoor's Ali Reynolds is crowned the 2015 World Class UK Bartender of the Year

The votes are in, and Ali Reynolds, head bartender at steakhouse Hawksmoor Spitalfields, has won the World Class UK Bartender of the Year award. We could tell you why, but we'd rather show you with the recipe for his signature cocktail Anti-Fig Matic

Want to try making it for yourself? See the recipe below. If your home bar isn't as well-stocked as Hawksmoor's, we're sure a dash of lemon could take the place of citric acid, and the ants could be left out.


  • 60ml Ketel One Vodka
  • 10ml fig leaf syrup infused with ants
  • 5ml Crème de Cacao Blanc
  • Pinch citric acid


Combine the ingredients, stir over ice, serve in a martini glass and garnish with an ant-tenna (a mini ten pound note).
