71-73 Church Street, N16 0AS; foxlow.co.uk
Nearest station: Stoke Newington
WHAT'S THE DRAW: Hawksmoor's more accessible cousin opens its second outpost in Stoke Newington. High-end food and drink with a neighbourhood feel.
WHAT TO DRINK: Mouthwatering cocktails at non-eye-watering prices are a great starting point (we had the Foxy Lady, with aperol and manzanilla sherry). If you want to cut down the bill, Tuesdays are BYOB.
WHAT TO EAT: Bar snacks like anchovy and goat butter crisps are well worth getting stuck into. The starters and mains lean towards meat, as you'd expect, but the crispy five-pepper squid was beautiful; as was the inventive ten-hour short rib, served with kimchi.
