WHAT'S THE DRAW: A renovation sees this modern relic – open since 1929 – brought firmly up to date.
WHAT TO DRINK: If the room didn't give it away, Quaglino's celebrates mixology's golden age, so you can't go wrong with the cocktail list. For the main, you're in safe hands with the restaurant's excellent, exuberant sommelier Jonathan Dupont.
WHAT TO EAT: Start with the Quaglino's cocktail – a posh prawn cocktail with crab, lobster and langoustine, which is incredibly rich, but also fresh and zingy. The Highland wild red deer with parsnip puree is as gamey, irony and tender as you'd expect, and then some.
